What is Monad?
Monad is a high-performance, EVM-compatible Layer-1 blockchain designed to provide higher transaction throughput and better scalability while keeping hardware requirements low.
Using technologies such as the MonadBFT consensus protocol and asynchronous execution, Monad can reach up to 10,000 TPS, with transaction confirmations typically under one second.
Popular dApps like Uniswap, Curve, Kuru, Tadle, and HashGame have already joined the Monad ecosystem.
How it works
Monad enhances performance through several technical innovations while remaining EVM-compatible.
MonadBFT
MonadBFT is a HotStuff-based BFT protocol that keeps globally distributed validators in sync. With pipelined voting and fast block propagation, it improves consensus efficiency, reduces confirmation latency, and lowers the risk of block reorgs.
Parallel execution
Monad uses an optimistic parallel-execution model that processes multiple transactions simultaneously, boosting throughput and reducing latency—similar to how a multi-core CPU handles tasks in parallel.
Asynchronous execution
During consensus, only the order of transactions is finalized; execution happens later in an independent pipeline. This allows consensus and execution to run concurrently, reducing computation during consensus and improving overall throughput.
MonadDb
MonadDb stores the state trie directly on SSDs, reducing read amplification and improving state-access performance. In parallel-execution scenarios, it leverages SSD bandwidth more efficiently to significantly accelerate querying and execution.
Features
- EVM compatibility
- Parallel execution
- Low latency and high throughput

How to use Monad with imToken?
Creating a Monad account
To create a Monad account, navigate to "My Profile" -> "Manage wallets" -> "Add". In the Popular section, swipe left, select Monad Mainnet, and confirm. Then, return to the wallet homepage to access your newly created Monad account.
Note: The Popular section lists networks that have been accessed most frequently in recent days. If you don’t see the Monad network there, look under the EVM section.
Receiving and transferring funds
In the Monad account, you can click "Transfer" or "Receive" and then perform the corresponding operation.
Receiving
Click "Receive ", share the QR code or copy the address and send it to the other party.
Transferring
Click "Transfer", set the type and amount of token you want to transfer, enter the recipient's address, and then click "Next".
Note: Before making a transfer, please ensure that your account has sufficient MON to cover the gas fee.
Experiencing Monad’s ecosystem on imToken
Click "DApp" on the account homepage to view and experience recent popular DApps on Monad.
Monad block explorer
The Monad block explorer is a website where you can look up Monad blocks, transactions, tokens, addresses, and more.
