What is Stable?

Stable is a stablecoin-focused Layer 1 blockchain supported by Bitfinex and Tether. It is fully EVM-compatible and is designed around the USDT ecosystem, with performance optimizations for stablecoin transfers and settlement.

Stable aims to provide a dedicated network with high throughput, low costs, and predictable fees for global payments, remittances, and enterprise-grade settlement.

How Stable Works

Stable's architecture is optimized for stablecoin transfers:

Consensus (StableBFT): A PoS consensus protocol based on CometBFT, designed for higher throughput and faster confirmations. Stable plans to adopt Autobahn (DAG-based) to further improve parallel processing and finality.

State storage (StableDB): Separates state commitment from disk writes to reduce write pressure. Recent state is kept in MemDB, while historical data is stored in VersionDB (via mmap) for more efficient access in high-frequency scenarios.

High-performance RPC: Routes requests to lightweight, specialized nodes by function to reduce resource contention and improve response speed for wallets and DApps.

Tokens on Stable

  • USDT0: The native gas token used to pay network fees (for example, transfer fees). It is also an ERC-20 token used for DeFi and smart contract interactions on Stable. As the core asset of the ecosystem, it is pegged 1:1 to USDT and can circulate across multiple chains.
  • STABLE: The governance token. Validators stake STABLE to participate in consensus, secure the network, and earn incentives.

Key Features

  • Native USDT settlement
  • High throughput with sub-second confirmations
  • Built for enterprise payment use cases
